Space Coast Symphony Orchestra

The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra is a lively and passionate Central Florida professional-level orchestra comprised of professional musicians and select youth players. The Orchestra was formed to provide mentoring and performance opportunities for the finest youth musicians as well as to expose a broad cross section of the community to quality programming at affordable prices. 25% of the orchestra’s audience base cites their experience with the Space Coast Symphony as their first orchestral experience. The ultimate goal of the organization is to help ensure the symphonic tradition for the enjoyment of future generations. Relying on a non-traditional orchestra model and a slim budget, the non-profit group performs year-round appearing in more than eighty five performances each season. The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra proudly enters its 3rd Anniversary in the 2011/12 Season, led by the young & dynamic Music Director, Aaron Collins.  The flagship series of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra is the Masterworks Series. This series is comprised of five to eight concerts, featuring the best of classics.  Other series include the Sunday Afternoon Series which features lighter fare including musicals, pops, and light classics; the Opera Series, unstaged performances of Opera favorites; Friday Night at the Movies, an innovative series pairing scores from films with images on screen; the Holiday Series which include favorites such as the Messiah Sing Along & Stan Kenton Brass Christmas; the Jazz Series, featuring the finest jazz musicians from throughout the Southeastern United States; and the Coffee Concerts, which focus on one-act operas paired with innovative storytelling and education.   The Space Coast Symphony’s Summer Series has become an instant sensation. Featuring the entire orchestra, the Summer Series is the only major subscription concerts in all of Florida.Since May of 2009, the Space Coast Symphony have provided over eighty-five free chamber concerts throughout the Central Florida community, the most in the Southeastern United States. Banner performances include the annual Handel’s Messiah Sing Along and Celebrate America featuring the twenty-piece, Space Coast Brass Ensemble. 

Brevard Cultural Alliance

The Brevard Cultural Alliance is a private nonprofit, 501(c)(3) agency founded in 1975 to serve as the local arts agency for Brevard County. By the late eighties, BCA develop ed strong partnerships with the Brevard County School Board; the Space Coast Office of Tourism; and the Brevard County Board of Commissioners to provide information, advice and technical assistance on arts and cultural affairs, grants and cultural event tourism information. BCA today provides artist residencies in numerous public schools. With over 20 years of success in bringing art to at-risk youth, it’s not hard to see the dedication BCA has to keeping the arts alive and proactive in the lives of residents. Brevard County is home to the King Center, the Henegar Center and various community theatres; professional orchestras such as the Brevard Symphony Orchestra and the Space Coast Pops; numerous galleries; and a variety of museums including the Astronaut Hall of Fame, Brevard Art Museum, East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame, and the Museum of History and Natural Science. Chamber music, jazz, art galleries, dance companies, and festivals, offer unique experiences for residents and visitors alike. The Dog Bones

Formed in Dec 2009, the "Dog Bones" are a professional level trombone sextet consisting of four trombones, one tuba and percussion. Specializing in dog-themed music for canine events including weddings, birthdays, barkmitzvas, yappy hours, and more, this innovative ensemble combines both technical flair and thrilling entertainment for all ages. In addition, they also perform for non-pet events such as Christmas, Easter, patriotic events, weddings, and anniversaries. Over the 2009 / 2010 Season, the Dog Bones have performed to thousands, including performances for the Humane Society, Space Coast Pops Orchestra, Festival of Sand, Eau Gallie 1st Friday Art Walk, Space Coast Symphony, Cocoa Village, assisted living facilities, and various church events.

Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra

The Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra (BSYO) was founded in 1984 to provide an exceptional musical experience for the youth of Brevard County. To this day we remain the only non-profit organization in Brevard devoted solely to the orchestral training of young musicians. The BSYO motivates students to fulfill their potential and strive for excellence by engaging their intellect and passion through challenging rehearsal and performance opportunities. The BSYO also serves the community by encouraging a greater understanding of and participation in music through affordable and family-friendly concerts. Currently we maintain three levels of orchestras with 150+ talented young musicians ages 6-18 who represent 60 public, private and home schools throughout central Florida. The BSYO experience includes weekly rehearsals on Monday evenings, monthly sectional study, six performances annually, season Kickoff, and Concerto Competition. We also offer chamber music opportunities and educational outreach activities such as our popular “instrument petting zoo”. Tuition assistance is available.

Space Coast Pops Orchestra

The Space Coast Pops is a professional orchestra, which performs all kinds of good music for the young to the young at heart. Its entertaining concerts frequently showcase outstanding local performers as well as guest artists. Once a year during the fall the Pops presents a free Holiday Gift Concert. Throughout the year the Pops involves families by sponsoring the Youth Music Fest and the Young Performing Artists Competition. These events are held in areas of the county not otherwise considered a part of our cultural scene. The Space Coast Pops is a non-profit 501-(c)-3 organization sponsored in part by the Brevard County Board of Commissioners, Brevard Cultural Alliance, public minded businesses and individuals.
